The Clinical Nurse Educator Academy assists participants to integrate knowledge and skills from the nurse clinician role with new knowledge and skills needed as clinical nurse educator. Narratives from research and practice will be used to impart essential skills in clinical teaching, such as assessment of learning needs, writing objectives, teaching strategies, clinical simulation and performance evaluation.
The Academy brochure and details about course requirements for academic credit and registration are now available. A full schedule will be added in the near future.
Attention: There are two registration forms for the Clinical Nurse Educator Academy. One is for Academic Credit Hours and is one for CEUs. Only fill out one form.
Prerequisite: Bachelor’s Degree or permission of the instructor.
NURS 605-654 Clinical Nurse Educator Academy (3 cr)
Participants attending for academic credit will be required to attend the three day workshop and participate in the course using GMU Blackboard online learning system after the on campus Academy is complete. Requirements will include online group discussion board participation, a Power Point presentation with peer evaluation, and collaborative development of a clinical conference paper based on NLN core competencies, course content, and literature. All requirements must be met by July 20, 2009.
