The Clinical Nurse Educator Academy assists participants to integrate knowledge and skills from the nurse clinician role with new knowledge and skills needed as clinical nurse educator. Narratives from research and practice will be used to impart essential skills in clinical teaching, such as assessment of learning needs, writing objectives, teaching strategies, clinical simulation and performance evaluation.

Participants attending for academic credit will be required to complete one progressive reflective paper, a short research journal review and a 10 - 12 page paper after the Academy is complete. All requirements must be met by July 15, 2008.
Participants registering for academic credit will need to print the Contract Course Enrollment form and the Application for Virginia In-State Tuition Rates form found on the Academy website. Both forms must be completed in detail and returned with the Academy registration form.
