Carol Urban is an Instructor in the College of Health and Human Services. She teaches undergraduate courses in physical assessment, pharmacology, pathophysiology, acute-care clinical preceptorship, and has taught graduate pathophysiology and curriculum development courses.

Current research interests are in the use of computer-based distance education, improving learning for at-risk students, and educational models using computer learning. She has also published on the ethical needs of at-risk students.

Carol has written and reviewed pharmacology chapters for texts by Prentice-Hall and Elsevier Health publishers. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau - Epsilon Zeta chapter, Alpha Chi, and of the National Association for Developmental Education. In the community, she serves on the Board of Directors of the Lower Loudoun Girls Softball League and as Team Statistician for the Loudoun Storm 12-U girls fastpitch softball team.
