Odette P. Willis is a full-time Assistant Professor of Nursing in the College of Health and Human Services. Her primary nursing background is in acute care adult medical-surgical nursing with a focus in education. She has over twenty years experience as an administrator, clinical nurse educator, and systems analyst. She is also a Naval Reserve Nurse Corps Officer who recently retired after thirty-two years of service. Professor Willis teaches Leadership and Management in Health Care, Health Assessment, Basic and Intermediate Lab Technologies, as well as clinical rotations in Medical-Surgical areas, Long Term Care, and Community Health in the undergraduate curriculum. She is currently enrolled in the Ph.D. in Nursing program at George Mason University.

Teaching-learning areas of interest include Health Policy,Changing Health Care Delivery Models, the Future of Health Care and how it will affect Nursing, Working with, teaching, and managing multiple generations in education and the workplace. Active member: Sigma Theta Tau National Nursing Honor Society-Epsilon Zeta Chapter, Association of Black Faculty and Staff (ABFAS). She is also active in the Naval Reserve Association, Navy Nurse Corps Association, and the Association of Military Surgeons of the United States.
