Dr. Wu is experienced in Medical-Surgical Nursing and Critical Care Nursing. She teaches Pathophysiology, Pharmacology, Medical-Surgical Nursing, Nursing Issues and Trends, and Nursing Research, Advanced Nursing Practice, Nursing Curriculum Design, and the Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL) program. In her research, she is interested in Chinese nursing development and reform, cardiopulmonary care, program evaluation, nursing outcome studies, nursing practice classification, and coping and depression of chronic illness.

Dr. Wu received the Excellent Undergraduate Faculty Award and was awarded the "2004 Alumni of the Year" Award from the College of Health and Human Services, George Mason University. She received an International Leadership Award from Sigma Theta Tau, Epsilon Zeta Chapter. Dr. Wu also received a Distinguished Alumna Award from Villanova University, and an Outstanding Alumna Award from Taipei National College of Nursing.
