Adele Young has been part of the faculty of George Mason since 1996. She has taught both undergraduate and graduate courses, but her major focus is in the Nurse Practitioner Track. She has been a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner since 1984. She continues to practice as a Nurse Practitioner delivering care to uninsured children on a Mobile Health Van sponsored by Potomac Hospital. She has a strong interest in childhood immunizations, and served for three years on the Advisory Council on Childhood Vaccines. She is currently the President of the Virginia Council of Nurse Practitioners, a professional organization with 1,200 NP members. She is also active in Sigma Theta Tau serving as the Research Chair of Epsilon Zeta.
