
Of the total amount of graduate credits needed to complete the Master’s in Nursing at GMU (which ranges from 37-48 depending on program), a series of core courses and a prerequisite course in bivariate statistics are required. The core courses (13 credits) consist of course work in the theoretical foundations of nursing, applications in nursing research, a seminar in the ethics of health care, and a course on the organization of nursing and health care delivery systems.
All students seeking a degree are urged to apply for University admission as soon as possible. A maximum of 9 credits may be earned in non-degree status in the College of Health and Human Services. Students seeking a degree/advanced certificate must have an official program plan drafted by meeting with a CHHS advisor.
