Nancy Freeborne's Curriculum Vitae

Dr. Nancy Freeborne is a term assistant professor and coordinator of the undergraduate community health internship program.  She acts as an advisor to the community health undergraduate students and MPH community health concentration graduate students.

Dr. Freeborne received her Doctorate of Public Health with a concentration in health behavior from George Washington University in 2009.  Her thesis examined how the variable of social support relates to cardiovascular disease in postmenopausal women.
 
She completed an MPH with a concentration in health administration at George Washington University. She holds two bachelor’s degrees—a BS in Health Science (Physician Assistant) from GWU, and a BA in biology from Lafayette College.

Dr. Freeborne served as an adjunct faculty member in GMU’s Department of Health Administration and Policy and was an Associate Clinical Professor in the Health Science Programs and Health Care Sciences at GWU.  Dr. Freeborne has significant clinical experience as a Physician Assistant (PA), working in internal medicine, geriatrics and clinical research.  She currently works one day a week at the George Washington University Student Health clinic. Additionally, Dr. Freeborne directed the ISCOPES program at the GWU Medical Center which brought a variety of health professionals together to provide health promotion in underserved community settings.  She also has experience conducting geriatrics research and has published her findings in peer reviewed geriatrics journals.
