Kathryn H. Jacobsen is an assistant professor of epidemiology in the Department of Global and Community Health.  Her research focuses on the health transitions that occur in conjunction with socioeconomic development and globalization, and, in particular, on the shifting epidemiology of infectious diseases.  She is an internationally-recognized expert on the global epidemiology of hepatitis A virus.  Dr. Jacobsen is the author of Introduction to Global Health and teaches courses in epidemiology, research ethics and methods, and global health.  She earned an M.P.H. in International Health and a Ph.D. in Epidemiology from the University of Michigan.
