Kathryn H. Jacobsen, PhD, MPH

Kathryn Jacobsen

Kathryn H. Jacobsen's research focuses on health transitions epidemiology, the study of the shifts in population disease burden that occur in conjunction with socioeconomic development and globalization.  She is an internationally-recognized expert on the global epidemiology of hepatitis A virus and conducts field research at several international study sites.  Her research website (see link at right) provides an up-to-date list of projects and publications.  Dr. Jacobsen is the author of Introduction to Global Health and Introduction to Health Research Methods: A Practical Guide, and teaches courses in epidemiology and global health.  She was a 2013 University Teaching Excellence Award winner.
