Hua Min, PhD

Dr. Min is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Health Administration and Policy, College of Health and Human Services, George Mason University. Her research interest is in the areas of ontology construction and its applications in bioinformatics, natural language processing (NLP), medical terminologies, and data warehousing. She has developed structural methodologies for auditing medical terminologies such as UMLS, NCI Thesaurus, and SNOMED. She has also constructed a prostate cancer ontology that has been applied to integrate the different database systems successfully at Fox Chase Cancer Center. She is currently exploring the expansion of applications of ontology and other computer science technologies to nursing and health informatics.
