Elvira BeracocheaDr. Elvira Beracochea is a development doctor. The job of a development doctor is to develop better health services and programs to improve everyone’s health everywhere. Development Doctors have a unique and urgent mission now: to reach the Millennium Development Goals – for Dr. Elvira that means creating ways of helping health professionals everywhere deliver quality health services to over a billion women, men and children that need them- 1% at a time every day. It is her “Think big and reach 1% every day” philosophy that inspires health professionals and helps her staff deliver productive and successful development solutions. Dr. Elvira’s passion is Epidemiology. As Adjunct Professor at GMU, she inspires her students to step up and take charge of their careers using Epidemiology to make a difference in Public Health. Dr. Elvira is a professional speaker, writer, consultant and founder, president, and CEO of MIDEGO, Inc., a consulting firm that provides innovative public health and international development solutions for reaching the Millennium Development Goals. She has more than 20 years experience as a physician, public health and international development expert, health policy advisor, epidemiologist, researcher, health systems and hospital manager, university teacher and health management consultant and coach in Latin America, Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe and the South Pacific.  Read more at www.midego.com
