"Moments, Memories, and Mission: Stories from the Field of Assisted Living”, is a collection of the best entries received from the first ever national assisted living employees essay contest. Conducted by the Program in Assisted Living Administration at George Mason University, these 21 vignettes from nearly every type of assisted living employee are a must read for those working in the field, and a gift from residents and families who have shared the assisted living experience. The book includes a Foreword by Terry Klaassen, Founder and Chief Cultural Office of Sunrise Senior Living, the nation’s largest senior housing provider, and is illustrated by Gus Muller, 81, an award winning artist whose wife, Liz, has suffered from Alzheimer’s disease for more than 10 years.
