The M.S.N./M.B.A. degree, offered jointly with the School of Management, prepares
nurses for mid- and top-level administrative, leadership, management, and health
policy roles in health and health-related organizations. A variety of health
care and health-related settings are used for clinical practice experiences.
The MSN/MBA program requires 59.5 graduate creidts, including graduate nursing,
business, decision sciences, and elective courses.
The combined program focuses on developing nursing leaders with the ability
to analyze problems and create solutions. This highly competitive program challenges
students to understand current business problems, to anticipate and manage
change, and to evaluate new evidence and emerging techniques that enhance management
performance. This joint program stresses professional and personal integrity,
commitment, and achievement. It builds on the student's career goals and professional
background.
Admission Requirements
- One application and one fee are submitted by each applicant.
- Applicants must meet the admission requirements for graduate degree status
in both the College of Health and Human Services and the School of Management
- Applicants must:
- Possess an undergraduate degree in nursing and hold an active license
as a registered nurse
- Have a minimum of one year experience as a professional nurse, or equivalent
- Have a cumulative undergraduate grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0
scale for the last 60 hours of undergraduate work completed
- Take the GMAT and have the scores sent directly to George Mason University
- Have completed, with a satisfactory grace, college-level courses in
calculus
A completed Hepatitis B immunization series is required before enrollment
in clinical, practicum, or internship courses.

Financial Aid
Full-time students may be eligible for Commonwealth Fund Scholarships of $15,000.
Federal Traineeship Awards may also be available. George Mason's Office of
Student Financial Aid provides financial counseling, referral, loan information,
