Advanced Education Nursing Traineeship for PhD Students
The Advanced Education Nursing Traineeship for PhD Students is designed to recognize outstanding students in our program and support their academic progress.

Camille T. Barry Nursing PhD Scholarship (pdf)
The Camille T. Barry Nursing PhD Scholarship recognizes those students in good academic standing who demonstrate the ability to be recognized as leaders in nursing.

Cosmos Scholars
The Cosmos Club Foundation provides small grants for students in all academic fields to supplement funding for graduate student research.

Dominion Guild Nursing PhD Scholarship (pdf)
The Dominion Guild will support PhD students at the College of Health and Human Services who intend to teach.

GMU Alumni Association Scholarships
Each year the Alumni Association presents four student scholarships - two undergraduate scholarships, one graduate scholarship, and one that is either for a undergrad or graduate students.

Jack Kent Cooke 2008 Graduate Scholarship Program
Students and recent graduates who are planning on enrolling full-time in a
graduate program for fall 2008 may be eligible for up to $50,000 from the
Jack Kent Cooke Foundation. Students must be nominated by GMU to apply for
this award.

Nurse Faculty Loan Program
The Nurse Faculty Loan Program is a federal program designed to increase the number of nursing students who pursue careers as full-time faculty teaching in college and university schools of nursing.

Virginia Doctoral Nursing Student Loan Assistance Repayment Program
This fund will provide loans to full-time graduate nursing students who are accepted to or enrolled in a doctoral nursing program in the Commonwealth of Virginia. The purpose of this program is to increase the number of nursing faculty by providing doctoral students with financial support for doctoral study. Additionally, this program will assist Virginia nursing schools to recruit and retain new nursing faculty and enable them to increase enrollments.

These programs, represent a partnership of public and private doctoral granting schools in the Commonwealth and are: George Mason University, Hampton University, the University of Virginia, and Virginia Commonwealth University. All nursing schools in the Commonwealth will benefit from this program, as upon graduation, recipients of these loans must assume faculty positions at any nursing school in the state that prepares Registered Nurses.

PhD in Nursing Fellowship for Spring 2007 (pdf)
The PhD in Nursing Fellowship is designed to recognize outstanding students in our program and support their academic progress.  For Spring 2007, each Fellowship award may be up to the full amount of tuition and fees.

Disability Policy Fellowship (pdf)
The VBPD Disability Policy Fellowship was established to fill the growing need for skilled policy analysts committed to systems change and to offer students an opportunity for hands-on policy and applied research experience on disability-related issues.  The Board’s 2007-08 Policy Fellow will receive a stipend of $15,000 for the academic year.
