Technical Exchange Travel Program

Many of you have been asking about our travel experiences. The Technical Exchange Travel Program is open to MSN students and RN to BSN students as for-credit courses.

Three opportunities for travel are available:

• Barbados - coordinated by Dr. Loretta Normile
• Nicaragua - coordinated by Ms. Suzanne Molloy
• Smith Island - coordinated by Dr. Michele Davidson

Please read this information carefully so that you will understand:

• The dates and locations of the trips
• The population served at each location
• The requirements for nursing students selected for each location
• The activities of the nursing students in each location, and
• The expense involved in traveling on each trip.

Because each trip is different, the instructors have decided that you must select among the offerings and apply for only one. If you apply for more than one trip, you will be disqualified from the opportunity.

To apply for these trips, you must submit One (1) Application (available in each destination's description page), Two (2) Letters of Recommendation, and a copy of your Unofficial Transcript. Application forms must be turned in to the CHHS office in Robinson A 374. Each of the instructors will review their applicants and select people to be interviewed. Every applicant will be contacted by the appropriate instructor.

Each instructor will have assignments related to the trip that will be completed during the Fall semester in order to be prepared for the fast-pace of the clinical.
