DNP Student Receives Association Award

March 22, 2012 - Angelina Harmon, a student in the Doctor of Nursing Practice program, will receive the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practictioners Foundation $1,000 NAPNAP/Abbott Nutrition DNP Capstone Project Grant award. This award will assist in the completion of Ms. Harmon's capstone project related to pediatric nutrition.

SoN Faculty Appointed to Global Commission

January 31, 2011 - Dr. Barbara Hatcher, SoN Faculty, was recently appointed to the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools International Advanced Practice Nursing Sub-Committee for a two year term. This appointment recognizes Dr. Hatcher's impressive international work.

Graduate Nursing Program Ranked by U.S. News in Top Online Education Programs

DNP Program CCNE Accreditation: Call for Comments

December 13, 2011 - All nursing students, School of Nursing Faculty, Clinical Preceptors of DNP students, employers of GMU School of Nursing graduates, and supporters of the School of Nursing, as members of the School of Nursing "Community of Interest", are invited to comment on the DNP program.

On April 11, 12, 13, 2012, the DNP Program will be undergoing an accreditation review by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). This is a very important process to all of us as it will determine our DNP Program’s accreditation status.

We are requested by the CCNE to afford our “Community of Interest” an opportunity to submit third-party comments to the CCNE prior to their visit to the school.  All comments will be treated with the strictest of confidentiality and anonymity.  Your comments will not be seen by any of the School of Nursing’s administrators or faculty.   All comments should be submitted in writing, signed, and mailed to:
