Programs that Require a Video Submission

Students applying to the following pathways must submit a three-minute video via SlideRoom as part of the application process:

  • BSN, Traditional Pathway
  • BSN, Accelerated Pathway

Applications without an accompanying video submission are deemed incomplete and will not be reviewed.

Developing your Presentation

The topic of your presentation is announced on the BSN Application website approximately one month prior to the application deadline. Video submissions will be accepted from December 15 until your program application deadline.

When recording your video, please do not read a statement from printed copy. Instead, deliver your response to the prompt as if giving a presentation. Please state your first and last name and your G number in your opening statement. Record your video in landscape orientation. Your finished product should not require viewers to turn their heads to the side when viewing on a desktop computer.

Using SlideRoom

SlideRoom charges a $5 fee to upload your video. This fee is payable to SlideRoom at the time of submission and will not be waived under any circumstances. The maximum accepted video file size is 250 MB and must be in .m4v, .mov, .mp4, .wmv, .flv, .asf, .mpeg, .mpg, or .mkv format. You can only upload one video, one time. Exceptions to this requirement will not be made. Any videos longer than the three-minute limit will not be reviewed.

Before you can submit your video to SlideRoom, you must first submit an online BSN departmental application (Part A) for undergraduate study. After successful submission of your application, a link to the SlideRoom portal will be provided in your application confirmation email. You must follow the provided link and create a SlideRoom account before you can submit your video presentation and other required items through SlideRoom. After you have created your account on SlideRoom.com, log out and close your browser. Return to the provided link and log back in to SlideRoom to submit your video presentation and other required items.

Once you have successfully submitted your video to SlideRoom and paid the fee, you will receive a confirmation email from SlideRoom. Please print the SlideRoom confirmation email and include a copy in your application.

If you experience a technical difficulty uploading your video, please contact SlideRoom directly via email at support@slideroom.com. The SlideRoom support staff has limited availability (Monday - Saturday, 9:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. Central time), so plan accordingly. In addition, please note that the BSN Admissions Office will not be able to offer technical assistance to applicants experiencing difficulty with the SlideRoom system.

Remember the video submission deadline is the same as your program application deadline.
