A Guide to Writing in the School of Nursing

At the School of Nursing,we have established our commitment to writing in many ways, including our Writing Intensive class, NURS 465, Professional Transition and Role Integration.

We have also established this Web site, with information on different Types of Writing nursing students use, Advice from your professors, recommendations for Collaborative Writing, and other helpful links about writing. Advice on avoiding plagiarism, as well as examples of critiqued student writing (reflective essay, experiential narrative, and position paper) are also available from this site.

You will need to download the most recent verison of the free Adobe Acrobat Reader plug-in to view some of the files on this site. Earlier versions of Acrobat are not compatible with these files, indicted by the letters "pdf". The letters "pdf" also link to the Adobe Acrobat Download site.

This online writing guide was created under the auspices of a General Education Funding Award received by Writing Across the Curriculum. The guide was developed by Dr. Georgine Redmond with the assistance of Lisa J. Ampleman.
