Course Description: The Return to Practice Course is a comprehensive program designed for the licensed registered nurse (RN) returning to clinical practice. This course provides a review of concepts in pathophysiology, physical assessment, pharmacology, and nursing skills and technologies. The clinical component focuses on care of culturally-diverse adult medical-surgical patients. Classroom instruction, technology and skills laboratory, and clinical experiences are utilized to provide this course.
Attendance Requirement: Students must be able to attend all on-campus classes and off-site clinical sessions to complete the program — no exceptions can be accommodated or partial CE credit given.
Cost: $2,500.00 Full payment is due at Registration.

Class Size: For this session, 24 clinical spots are available. A minimum of eight students will be required to hold the class. Academic Outreach reserves the right to cancel the course if the minimum student enrollment is not met.
Classes: Mason Fairfax Campus, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm. Parking information, course syllabus, and other information will be provided after registration.
Clinical Sessions: Clinical practicum experiences are held at local hospitals and are based on agency availability. Information about the current hospitals used will be provided with the registration link, once it is made available.
Pre-Course Requirements: A current U.S. Registered Nurse license, or a past inactive or lapsed U.S. Registered Nurse license is required to participate in this program. A criminal background check, negative drug screen, and current immunizations must be verified prior to the beginning of the first clinical session. Failure to successfully complete the pre-course requirements will prevent clinical placement.
