Brian Santo serves as an adjunct professor, teaching Legal Aspects of Healthcare Administration in the MHA program. Mr. Santo, a member of the Office of General Counsel with the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA), with extensive project management and people leadership experience, leverages his subject matter expertise and focus in healthcare corporate law, contracts, intellectual property, privacy and compliance programs to serve as the firm’s Compliance Manager and Contract Specialist. Mr. Santo is responsible for managing and coordinating the day-to-day operations of the corporate compliance program. He also maintains responsibility for preparing and negotiating complex corporate contracts and licenses, including Intellectual Property concerns, all Government contract and grant negotiations, including FAR analyses and other legal matters.
Prior to his time at NCQA, Mr. Santo worked for Booz Allen Hamilton, where he served as a subject matter expert in healthcare policy, specifically around healthcare program implementation, the Affordable Care Act, and compliance and audit arenas. Here he acquired extensive project management knowledge and experience.
Before embarking on his legal career, Mr. Santo was drafted and played professional baseball in the Detroit Tigers organization.
Mr. Santo earned his Juris Doctor (JD) from Duquesne University and Master of Public Health (MPH) from the University of Pittsburgh. He holds Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC), Compliance and Ethics (CCEP), Healthcare Privacy Compliance (CHPC) and Healthcare Research Compliance (CHRC) certifications.
