On-campus Program

The on-campus MS in Health Informatics program is offered at George Mason University’s campus in Fairfax, Virginia. The program is best for:

  • Students who live in the DC metro area or want to relocate to study
  • Full time students, who wish to quickly complete the program (with a high course load it is possible to complete in 1.5 years, and typically in 2-2.5 years)
  • Part-time students, including working professionals, who want to take classes in afternoons/evenings and some classes online
  • Students who want face-to-face interaction with faculty
  • International students
  • Virginia residents who can receive in-state tuition
  • Clinicians aiming at career change into health informatics
  • IT professionals transitioning into health care
  • Recent college graduates
  • Professionals with already established careers

Online Program (beginning January 2018)

The MS in Health Informatics program with a concentration in Health Data Analytics will soon be offered fully online and is intended to be completed in 2.5 years. The program is best for:

  • Students who live outside the DC metro area and do not want to relocate to study
  • Students who require the flexibility of a fully online program
  • Students who want to take courses offered in a condensed 8-week format, one course at a time.
  • Students who do not require face-to-face instruction and are comfortable with online training
  • Clinicians aiming at career change into health informatics
  • IT professionals transitioning into healthcare
  • Recent college graduates
  • Professionals with already established careers
