1. Helene Fuld Nursing Scholarship

Ten scholarship awards in the amount of $3,760 per student are available for the Spring 2021 semester to undergraduate Accelerated Bachelors in Nursing (ABSN) students in the College of Health and Human Services. Applicants should have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and demonstrate academic excellence, leadership skills, and financial need.

2. CHHS Alumni Chapter Board Scholarship

With the sponsorship of the CHHS Alumni Chapter Board, two (2) awards of $1,000 each will be awarded to eligible students in the College of Health and Human Services (CHHS) for the spring 2021 semester. Applicants should be in their final year of any CHHS program, should demonstrate financial need, maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0, and describe their interest in serving the College as an alumna/us upon graduation. Recipients of this award will be invited to attend monthly meetings of the CHHS Alumni Chapter Board throughout the spring 2021 semester.

3. CHHS Distinguished Scholar Award

Up to $3,500 is available for each of several undergraduate students in the College of Health and Human Services (CHHS) who are residents from the DC metro area. Applicants should describe passion for their area of study within CHHS and describe how the scholarship funding would help alleviate their financial need. First-generation college students are strongly encouraged to apply.

4. John J. Hughes Memorial Social Work Award

This scholarship established in honor of the late Dr. John Hughes, a former social work professor and the founder and director of the Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) program at George Mason University. This spring 2021, a $250 scholarship will be awarded to a current junior undergraduate BSW student, to offset the cost of tuition and to allow the recipient to continue to pursue a bachelor’s degree in social work. Applicants will be considered based on academic merit, financial need, and demonstrated ability to overcome obstacles.

5. CVS Foundation Health Scholarship

Three awards of $1,000 each will be available in spring 2021 for full-time, graduate students pursuing a degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP). Applicants must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and be currently working to support underserved populations in a student or volunteer capacity, such as through the Mason and Partners Clinics.  Active military, veterans, and bilingual students are encouraged to apply. Applicants will be considered based on academic merit, financial need, and demonstrated support for underserved populations.
