Tammy M. George, LCSW
Tammy George serves as the Student Support Coordinator in the Department of Social Work. She provides support to faculty in the Department of Social Work through seminars and curriculum enhancement. She serves as an advisor to students in the BSW Program. Tammy is excited to fill this role in supporting both students and faculty by combining her years of experience in the field with her prior teaching experience at George Mason. Tammy started as an adjunct instructor in the BSW Program at George Mason in 2014. She earned a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology from The University of Mary Washington and a Master's Degree in Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University. Tammy is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She has worked in a variety of outpatient, mental health, substance abuse treatment, and crisis intervention settings. She also owned a counseling practice with specializations in treating chronic anxiety and mood disorders.
