Grant Huang, PhD

Biography

Dr. Huang's work is in the area of multi-site clinical trials and epidemiological studies aimed at informing and guiding clinical practice. His responsibilities include overseeing a national network of clinical research centers conducting approximately 30 active protocols addressing various diseases and health conditions. He has been involved with designing and/or managing over 100 national and international studies, several of which have been considered landmark studies published in top-tier medical journals. In addition to clinical and comparative effectiveness research, his current interests include organizational performance, quality management, research methodology and policy. 

Dr. Huang received his education and training from the University of California, Berkeley, the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, and Cornell University. He has a multidisciplinary background with particular emphases in biostatistics/epidemiology and behavioral medicine/medical psychology. His earlier work focused on the prevention of musculoskeletal disorders/disability and the role biomechanical and psychological stress in health. Since then, he has worked with a number of federal agencies, pharmaceutical and device companies and academic medical centers. Dr. Huang has served on various advisory boards in clinical and health services research and is on the editorial board of the Journal of Occupational Rehabilitation.
